Built from decades of experience across the marine environment.
Seagard was co-founded by Aaron Mair, whose career spans more than 50 years across the maritime industry - from fishing vessel captain and Merchant Navy Chief Officer to senior marine management roles within government.
His experience has taken him from working at sea to shaping the legislation, licensing and regulation that govern it. Along the way, he developed a deep understanding of marine operations, fisheries and the complex relationships between those who use the ocean and the infrastructure beneath it.
That experience shaped Seagard's approach to subsea cable protection: understand the environment, anticipate risk and build the relationships needed to prevent incidents.
Today, Aaron's expertise underpins Seagard's work across monitoring, prevention and fisheries liaison, helping protect subsea cable infrastructure throughout its lifecycle across European and international waters.
